drove up here to the burbs of chi-town this morning with bam-bam, tex, and the beav.

i felt like shit during the race so bam-bam, tex, and the beav took turns attack and what not.

then with 10 laps to go (total of 50 lap crit) i launched off, was solo for a lap or so then a couple bridged up but no one wanted to work so we got caught with 7 to go...then i decided to immediately attack again...felt like crap but went anyway...again was solo for a lap or so then one guy bridged up...we worked together and with about 4 laps to go were out of sight of the chasing pack (something like 50 guys started the race)

forced the other guy to lead me out so i ended up taking the sprint for the win

i couldn't believe it...i did another dominic move today just like nature valley...sit in the back and attack at the end

then good ol' tex took 5th in the field sprint for 7th overall...definitely a good showing for B2U

not sure though how long we will stay up here...didn't make as much money as we were hoping with 1st place so its turning into an expensive vacation

also, this past weekend we went up to clear lake for the finale to the iowa cup series...i ended up winning saturdays crit solo for half the race, and will took the field sprint. then on sunday we dominited the road race by taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and me in 5th...turned out to be a great weekend

took 2 weeks off from workin at the restaraunt starting tomorrow

this weekend is 2 races in clear lake, then off to chicago and milwaukee for 2 weeks to do superweek

if all goes according to plan i will come back from wisconsin with more money that i would have made by sticking around ames

the big worry is going to be showering...im fine with not having a bed to sleep in (hell, i slept in a corn field last weekend and helped b2u win 2 different races)...but a shower or two would be nice so that im not the stinky guy in the races (i always hate riding behind guys that smell...*cough*BEAV*cough*)

wonder if beav will stay in wisconsin with me for the full 2 weeks?

sean walker, josh madsen, andrew fagersten and myself went up to cedarfalls this past weekend for the iowa state championships for the team time trial

chad bishop let me borrow his disc wheel for the day so that definitely helped out but the day was pretty hot (but not as hot as it will probably get later on this year)...we had dropped water bottles all over the place which was not a good mix

but we somehow set the fastest iowa time...can't say the FASTEST time because a group of guys from wisconsin came and beat us by about 3 minutes...ouch

after doing that race...not sure if i'll ever want to do another one of them things again...sitting in that aero position for 60 miles is the most uncomfortable thing ever, not to mention the cramps that soon overcame all of us

but most likely i'll change my mind next time and do it again

oh well, we did what we came to do...earned the gold for bikes 2 you!!!!

wonder if beav and me will have to sleep in cornfields in milkwaukee/chicago next week??????

last night got off work earlier than i thought so i decided to drive to iowa city during the night so then i could do the 2b race in the morning...

only one problem, i got there after the parks locked the gates...so i parked on the side of a dead end road, took out my sleeping bag, walked into a corn field and passed out

then woke up to the sun in my eyes, drove over to caseys for some greasy egg sandwiches, nasty gas station coffee, and then off to the race

the race went well...we basically turned it into a team time trial practice for us for tomorrow

so yea, tomorrow is the team time trial...i got some more motivation for it for tomorrow...found out today my roommate's brother died this morning. he was diagnosed only 3 weeks ago with leukemia...the past week went totally downhill. its really scary, he wasn't even 30 years old, extremely healthy-he had his own lawncare business and worked out all the time. he will be greatly missed.

you know, im startin to like this summer deal...work nights at the restaurant, sleep in, ride during the afternoon, work night again...not too bad really

sunday is the team time trial...its gonna hurt...a lot

then the next weekend is the finale to the iowa cup...gotta race smart to hold on to the W for B2U

then its off to superweek...gonna see if i can stick around for the full 2 weeks...anyone else going? im thinkin of campin as much as i can to save on money...maybe find a mattress and through it in the back of the van and just sleep there at the start line of each race...that way i can sleep in

my legs are absolutely TRASHED right now...went and did a 50km TT this morning in iowa city with s-weezy as a 2-man team

he doesn't know slow

and now my legs want me dead

after the race we road another 50km but no one must have told s-weezy that it was not a race anymore

next weekend is gonna be even worse

wonder if s-weezy did an ACTUAL recovery ride after the TT this morning?
